About Laura Bueno

Laura Bueno nace en la ciudad de México, egresada de la escuela de artes plásticas en el año de 1990, se une al proyecto del Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia para realizar reproducciones de piezas monumentales en la ciudad de Oaxaca, en diversas zonas arqueológicas de esa ciudad así como en la Venta (Tabasco), Tula (Hidalgo), Palenque (Chiapas), Yaxchilán (Chiapas), Pomoná (Tabasco) y en el propio Museo Nacional de Antropología e Historia de la ciudad de México.

Ha participado en diversas exposiciones permanentes e itinerantes de arte prehispánico, en diferentes museos en el mundo. La temática de su obra se llenó de pasión por la historia, por sus raíces, por las diferentes culturas que estuvieron y siguen estando vivas en nuestro país.

En palabras de la propia Laura: “Mi trabajo representa escenas cotidianas de ciudades, pueblos, casas y lugares. Me inspiro en fantasías provenientes de imaginaciones infantiles, cuentos y leyendas que alimentan mi alma".

Laura Bueno tiene sus obras en diversas colecciones privadas, principalmente en Estados Unidos, Canadá y México, pero también las encontramos en Inglaterra, Francia, Australia, España, Alemania, Escocia e Irlanda.

Laura Bueno was born in Mexico City, graduated from the School of Plastic Arts in 1990, joined the project of the National Institute of Anthropology and History to make reproductions of monumental pieces in the city of Oaxaca, in various archaeological zones of that city as well as in La Venta (Tabasco), Tula (Hidalgo), Palenque (Chiapas), Yaxchilán (Chiapas), Pomoná (Tabasco) and in the National Museum of Anthropology and History in Mexico City.

She has participated in various permanent and traveling exhibitions of pre-Hispanic art, in different museums around the world. The theme of her work was filled with passion for history, for her roots, for the different cultures that were and continue to be alive in our country.

In Laura’s own words:“My work depicts everyday scenes of cities, towns, houses and places. I am inspired by fantasies coming from childhood imaginations, tales and legends that feeds my soul".

Laura Bueno has her works in various private collections, mainly in the United States, Canada and Mexico, but we can also find them in England, France, Australia, Spain, Germany, Scotland and Ireland.

Regarding her participation in the exhibition “The pride of African heritage” she expressed: “this work aims to keep alive in people's minds the importance of our roots, the tree from which our heart and soul emanate in a multicultural mix full of color, passion and love” (Bueno, 2023).
