In the Mayan world there are sorcerers capable of transforming into animals at will, they are called Way. It is from this origin that the Yucatecan Mayan word “way” is used to designate something that impresses, scares or surprises. The sorcerer (Way) that we see here is the one who is capable of transforming into an Owl (Xooch) at night, and uses it as a resource to be able to move anywhere and observe everything around him with a penetrating gaze.

En el mundo maya existen brujos capaces de transformarse en animales a voluntad, son los llamados Way. Es de este origen que se usa la palabra maya yucateca “way” para designar algo que impresiona, asusta o sorprende. El brujo (Way) que vemos aquí es el que es capaz de transformarse en Buho (Xooch) por las noches, y lo usa como un recurso para poder moverse a cualquier lugar y observar con mirada penetrante todo lo que le rodea.
